Teeth Whitening Saint-Lazare
Teeth whitening is a cosmetic procedure that can brighten your smile and remove stains or discoloration caused by aging, medications, or lifestyle habits like coffee, tea, wine, or smoking. Keep in mind that results are not permanent, so occasional touch-ups may be needed to maintain your desired shade.
Whitening can be done both at home and in our office. At our clinic, our dentists often take before-and-after photos to track progress and compare your teeth’s new, lighter shade throughout the treatment.
In-Office Teeth Whitening
This fast and convenient treatment can lighten your teeth by six to ten shades. It uses a special light-activated whitening gel, usually containing hydrogen peroxide, and typically takes 30 to 90 minutes per session. Multiple visits may be needed to achieve the best results.
Take-Home Teeth Whitening
For this method, our dentists take impressions of your teeth to create custom-fit trays. You will receive a supply of whitening gel and instructions on how long to wear the trays. It is important to use only the prescribed amount, as overuse can irritate the gums.
Risks and Precautions
Both at-home and in-office whitening may cause temporary tooth sensitivity in some patients. This usually subsides a few days after treatment. Pregnant or breastfeeding individuals should avoid teeth whitening procedures.
