Dental Sedation Saint-Lazare
Dental Anesthesia
If you feel anxious about your dental visit and are looking for a safe and comfortable option, you’ve come to the right place in Saint-Lazare. At Angelique Dentaire, we provide dental care under Oral Moderate Sedation and Nitrous Oxide so you can receive treatment while relaxed and nearly asleep with Dr. Diana Ponoran.
This allows you to have extensive dental treatment in a single appointment—no more hiding your smile or putting up with pain. Dental anesthesia can help if you have one or more of the following conditions:
- Fear or anxiety about dental visits
- Low pain threshold or sensitive teeth
- Gag reflexes
- Limited time for completing dental care or needing extensive treatment
- Children or special needs patients who cannot cooperate during standard procedures
Nitrous Oxide (Conscious Sedation)
Nitrous oxide, offered at Angelique Dentaire, helps reduce anxiety and increase comfort during dental procedures.
Benefits of Nitrous Oxide:
- Adjustable depth of sedation at any time during treatment
- No after-effects, such as a “hangover”
- Safe for heart and lungs; biotransformation is minimal (about 0.04%)
- Reduces gag reflex effectively
- Rapid onset: relaxation and pain relief in 2–3 minutes
- Reversal with 100% oxygen for about 5 minutes at the end of treatment
- No companion required to go home after the appointment
Nitrous oxide has been safely used in dentistry for many years. Patients inhale up to 70% nitrous oxide with no less than 30% oxygen. You remain in control of bodily functions and can breathe on your own. Mild amnesia may occur, and you may not remember all aspects of the appointment, but you will remain safe and comfortable.
Who Should Avoid Nitrous Oxide
Nitrous oxide may not be suitable for individuals with:
- Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
- Emphysema or other respiratory problems
- Multiple sclerosis (M.S.) or colds affecting breathing
- Claustrophobia
To ensure a safe and comfortable experience, it is important to fully understand the sedation method being used. If you have questions or concerns about nitrous oxide, contact Dr. Diana Ponoran for guidance on the best sedation options for you.
